  • Ray Thomsen

    BE (Hons) Head Design Engineer

    Ray leads the Design Team and is also one of our Test Pilots. He has worked in aerodynamics analysis with the 'Skyboard' project and was a finalist in the 'Entre 40k' Entrepreneurship Challenge. Ray has also worked for Air New Zealand Engineering Services. Ray flies the Martin Jetpack regularly and flew the machine inside a building at the 2007 Company AGM

     
  • William Clemence

    BE Mech (Hons) Nat Dip (Mech Eng) Nat Cert (M&D) Design Engineer

    Bill has a broad range of experience in engineering, including industrial design and project management, practical engineering and theoretical skills. Bill has specialist skills in fabrication, machining, welding and software design programs. Previously a design engineer with Clemence Engineering, Bill has provided working solutions for industry based engineering problems for United Fisheries, Transrail, Talleys and Tegal. Bill flies the Jetpack on a regular basis.

     
  • Colin Dodge

    Engine Development

    Colin is a world renowned engine development specialist. He was a key member of the team that developed the Britten Motorcycle engine and has global experience with race development, testing and engine building. Colin's engine development skills are invaluable to us. Colin regularly flies the Martin Jetpack as a test pilot.

     
  • Neil Farrall

    Avionics Development Engineer

    Neil has been involved in a wide range of electronic development projects, including development of a stand alone avionics package for helicopter use. Neil's primary responsibilities at Martin Aircraft Company are development of electronics, avionics and pilot data display.

     
  • James Bowker

    BE Mech (Hons), Design Engineer and RC Test Pilot

    James designed, built and continues to upgrade the Martin Jetpack Flight Simulator to model actual jetpack performance, and to enable flight to be demonstrated through direct experience to clients and investors. He is also involved with the development of the Martin Jetpack and is the current remote control jetpack pilot for the Martin Jetpack UAV.
