MARTIN JETPACK REVEALED TO OSHKOSH CROWD

The Next Generation of personal aircraft demonstrated by the Next Generation

Oshkosh, Wisconsin was the launch pad for a world first in personal flight today when Martin Aircraft Company launched the ultimate personal flying machine – the Martin Jetpack – in a very personal way…

Harrison Martin, the 16 year old son of Glenn Martin, today demonstrated his father’s invention to the aviation world.

The Martin Jetpack has been 27 years in research and development; it’s been a long journey to Oshkosh for the Martin family. Today they took their bow on aviation’s world stage when Glenn Martin’s 16 year old son Harrison demonstrated to an audience of 10,000 spectators in Aeroshell Square just what Dad’s jetpack can do.

and it can do a lot more than any other jetpack ever did …

  • A flight time of 30 minutes - 100 times longer than the Bell Rocket Belt
  • Fuelled by regular gasoline
  • Ballistic parachute
  • Redundant systems
  • Impact absorbing undercarriage
  • 1,000 hours engine TBO
  • Patented fan jet technology

What’s more, unlike other jetpacks, it’s commercially viable and has solid financial backing. Jenny Morel, Chairman of Martin Aircraft’s Board of Directors, had this to say “We are aware of the dedication and personal sacrifices that had to be made every day of the 27 years it took to get to Oshkosh. This is now a serious commercial venture.”

Perhaps the last word today should go to Harrison. “I’m relieved that Dad’s invention has now been unveiled to the world. My friends work in MacDonalds during the school holidays, I have a slightly more interesting job as Dad’s jetpack test pilot, but it’s had to be a secret. It’s been pretty difficult keeping the project a secret – but well worthwhile,” he added.

The Martin Jetpack is launched, sustainable personal flight is here...
