Prospero “Paco” Uybarreta is a Category 1 Experimental Test Pilot with 19 years of unique professional aerospace leadership experience. A former Bombardier Aerospace and Scaled Composites Experimental Test Pilot, Paco initially served as a United States Air Force (USAF) Officer, holding the positions over 14 years of combat mission commander, foreign exchange officer, test flight commander, task force commander, and assistant director of operations. A 2009 graduate of the US Air Force Test Pilot School, he has over 4,600 total pilot hours in 48 different aircraft types with 1,000 instructor pilot hours, 600 flight test hours, and 460 combat hours.
Paco holds a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from Boston University, a M.A.S. in Aeronautics (honors) from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and a M.S. in Flight Test Engineering from USAF Air University. He holds the rank of Adjunct Assistant Professor of Aeronautics with Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and is a Ph.D. Candidate in Aerospace Sciences with the University of North Dakota.
Paco has been granted FAA ATPL, Transport Canada ATPL, FAA CFII, and CAA CPL and Cat 1 Test Pilot certificates, with multiple type ratings in Boeing, Bombardier, Beechcraft, and Mitsubishi jet aircraft, and an AV-L39C Experimental Authorization. He was also the 2015 recipient of the prestigious Iven C. Kincheloe Award for outstanding flight test accomplishments with Bombardier Commercial Aircraft and has received. the Meritorious Service Medal, four Air Medals, two Aerial Achievement Medals, and the Air Force Combat Action Medal.
